RESUMO

This retrospective study explored the changes in biomarkers indicators and prognosis in COVID-19 patients with mental disorders (n = 60) from the author’ Hospital between 2/13/2020 and 4/15/2020. Significant differences before and after negative conversion were observed in lymphocytes, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, aspartate aminotransferase, albumin, albumin/globulin ratio, direct bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, uric acid, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and ApoA1 (all P < 0.05). Compared with the patients who had a negative conversion within 3 weeks, those who did not turn negative within 3 weeks had a higher frequency of cardiovascular diseases (27.3% vs. 4.2%, P = 0.040), a higher lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (median, 4.72 vs. 3.35, P = 0.003), and higher total bilirubin levels (median, 12.0 vs. 8.6 µmol/L, P = 0.031). The results present the changes in laboratory parameters in COVID-19 patients with a mental disorder. Cardiovascular diseases and higher lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio, and total bilirubin levels could be associated with the amount of time required for negative conversion.

RESUMO

Equilibrium models for energy markets under uncertain demand and supply have attracted considerable attentions. This paper focuses on modelling crude oil market share under the COVID-19 pandemic using two-stage stochastic equilibrium. We describe the uncertainties in the demand and supply by random variables and provide two types of production decisions (here-and-now and wait-and-see). The here-and-now decision in the first stage does not depend on the outcome of random events to be revealed in the future and the wait-and-see decision in the second stage is allowed to depend on the random events in the future and adjust the feasibility of the here-and-now decision in rare unexpected scenarios such as those observed during the COVID-19 pandemic. We develop a fast algorithm to find a solution of the two-stage stochastic equilibrium. We show the robustness of the two-stage stochastic equilibrium model for forecasting the oil market share using the real market data from January 2019 to May 2020.

Background: To date, the medical resources and the important clinical risk factors of non-severe patients with the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have not been investigated.Methods: we retrospectively analyszed 104 patients with COVID-19 admitted to the isolation ward in Hubei, China, from February to March 2020. The general information, clinical symptoms, blood test and CT imaging characteristics were analyzed. Results: The median length of stay (LOS) is 14 days, and the cost of hospitalization (COH) is $2,522.86. The main influencing factors include the following:① CT imaging: lesions of the lungs were bilateral and multiple. The range of involved and interstitial changes affect the medical burden significantly (P=0.009 and P=0.013, respectively); ②Treatments: Patients were more severe with high flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy (HFNC) or used methylprednisolone more than 1mg / kg; ③ Blood test indicators: lymphocyte (LC) count level <1,000 and increased LDH (Lactate dehydrogenase) level have impact on medical burden; ④ These indicators have significant impact on medical resource after regression analysis except for LDH.Conclusions: The hospitalization cost of non-severe COVID-19 is higher than that of the common CAP patients. The main influencing factors are multiple extensive interstitial changes on CT scans, absolute lymphocyte level <1,000, use of high-dose methylprednisolone and HFNC.

RESUMO

The ongoing outbreak of viral pneumonia in China and across the world is associated with a new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-21. This outbreak has been tentatively associated with a seafood market in Wuhan, China, where the sale of wild animals may be the source of zoonotic infection2. Although bats are probable reservoir hosts for SARS-CoV-2, the identity of any intermediate host that may have facilitated transfer to humans is unknown. Here we report the identification of SARS-CoV-2-related coronaviruses in Malayan pangolins (Manis javanica) seized in anti-smuggling operations in southern China. Metagenomic sequencing identified pangolin-associated coronaviruses that belong to two sub-lineages of SARS-CoV-2-related coronaviruses, including one that exhibits strong similarity in the receptor-binding domain to SARS-CoV-2. The discovery of multiple lineages of pangolin coronavirus and their similarity to SARS-CoV-2 suggests that pangolins should be considered as possible hosts in the emergence of new coronaviruses and should be removed from wet markets to prevent zoonotic transmission.

RESUMO

2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is a virus identified as the cause of the outbreak of pneumonia first detected in Wuhan, China. Investigations on the transmissibility, severity, and other features associated with this virus are ongoing. Currently, there is no vaccine or therapeutic antibody to prevent the infection, and more time is required to develop an effective immune strategy against the pathogen. In contrast, specific inhibitors targeting the key protease involved in replication and proliferation of the virus are the most effective means to alleviate the epidemic. The main protease of SARS-CoV is essential for the life cycle of the virus, which showed 96.1% of similarity with the main proteaseof 2019-nCoV, is considered to be an attractive target for drug development. In this study, we have identified 4 small molecular drugs with high binding capacity with SARS-CoV main protease by high-throughput screening based on the 8,000 clinical drug libraries, all these drugs have been widely used in clinical applications with guaranteed safety, which may serve as promising candidates to treat the infection of 2019-nCoV.
